<p><strong>The Task:</strong> To convince lawmakers in more states to enforce The Paid Family Leave and Medical Insurance act to assist families when they experience unexpected life and family stress.</p><p><strong>The Issue:</strong> Many people face unplanned life stress and are vulnerable to the unexpected concerns they face in life. These situations create a lot of fear of job loss for workers when they are considering taking time from work in order to deal with unexpected life situations.</p><p>If workers have the option of choosing insurance coverage that helps them when they need to take time from work, they can have more peace of mind knowing that when the unexpected happens, they will still have the salary and job security they need to help them during stressful times.</p><p>Common situations that cause these types of concerns: caring for a newborn, adopted child, or foster child, and the worker’s personal or family medical needs.
