<p>The Rialto Theatre is in need of a new General Manager, and there isn't a single individual out there that is more qualified for the job than Ron Onesti, current Owner/CEO/President of the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles IL. Ron presented to the Rialto recently in hopes of being selected and was not only not selected but only had one vote. Ron is the best in the business; has 50 thousand Facebook fans on his theater page, 200 thousand people visit his website a month, he writes two (yes...TWO) newspaper columns a week promoting the business/Arcada, he's won several Emmys and most importantly, the dude knows how to make a buck. He wanted to work with local caterers and improve not just the Rialto, but downtown Joliet. For anyone who has had dreams of Joliet's downtown coming back to it's former glory, Ron was going to do it. He would have come in with Joe Carlucci of Carlucci restaurants, and had planned to have an event at the Rialto nearly every night of the week. Not only would this mean more revenue for the downtown area but more JOBS, stimulating the economy, etc. For months since the position opened up and the word got out that the Rialto was looking for new blood, Ron's name has been brought up as one of the first people that should be considered. EVERYONE knows Ron in one way or another, as his reputation preceeds him on multiple levels. The Rialto has made it clear they are NOT listening to the residents/will of the people; but we have a right to be heard. If you would like to see Ron Onesti brought on as the new General Manager of the Rialto, please sign this petition and pass it on. It might be too late, but it's worth a try.
