<p>This petition has been set up to highlight the proposed closure of ward 15 Dermatology at Monklands Hospital.<br />A skin condition is a very personal thing and these patients want privacy and to feel comfortable, they don't want to be sitting on display amongst medical patients.<br />All nurses are specialist dermatology nurses and they face being redeployed to other locations/wards.<br />In my personal opinion I have had psoriasis since I was 8 and my mum also has psoriasis she has been using the dermatology ward for 38 years and she wouldn't know where she would be without the help and expertise of the dermatology nursing staff!<br />I was brought into the dermatology ward as an emergency and receiving 1st class treatment from all the staff who make you feel at ease, if I hadn't got a bed in dermatology I would have had to go through A&E and put into a medical ward where both patients and nursing staff wouldn't have the knowledge of dermatology conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, bullous pemphigoid<br />The closure of this ward would have a devastating impact on all dermatology patients.</p><p>THIS IS WHY WARD 15 DERMATOLOGY SHOULD NOT BE CLOSED!!!! </p><p> </p><p> </p><p><br /><br /></p><p> </p>
