Petition to Eliminate GPO and WEP

<p>The Government Pension Offset and the Windfall Provision Act (sic) unjustifiably punish citizens who have paid into the Social Security System by decreasing their advantages by around 50% since they are or will be, accepting an administration retirement fund. These procurements punish our instructors, police officers, fire fighters and others in fifteen states.</p><p>The Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO) are two provisions of the Social Security law that influence Social Security advantages to which CSRS retirees might be entitled. &nbsp;</p><p>There has been action in Congress in the past to revoke these provisions. FedSmith.com writer John Grobe expounded on this quite a while prior and told readers around then "Don't hold your breath" concerning a revoke of the procurements.
