Change the NC State rule to cover Essure ...

<p>I personally do not have an Essure coil(s) implanted but I have a daughter and I have heard the complaints from women who are suffering from this terrible birth control that the FDA approved of. &nbsp;Women from all over the United States. &nbsp;<strong>From immune disorders to fatigue, sleeplessness, colds that never end, cramping in the abdominal area, loss of hair from the stress of being sick all the time. &nbsp;Not able to eat, bowel disorders, joint pains, and even death, and so on and on.</strong> &nbsp;Women who were not sick with the exception of a cold or a bug once in a long while to be sick every day since the Essure was implanted. Women who were told lies about how safe the Essure was to hearing thousands of complaints since having it implanted.&nbsp;</p><p>I wrote an email to Dr. Charles Monteith, Medical Director and tubal reversal doctor who specializes in the Essure reversal. &nbsp;I asked him why he had to have $7500.00 up front instead of taking insurance. &nbsp;He told me that he would love to be able to take insurance but the insurance companies only accept insurance for surgeries in a hospital setting. <strong>Apparently, the health care rules in North Carolina will not allow this kind of surgery to take place in a hospital. &nbsp;My guess is to keep insurance from paying for this surgery.</strong> Dr. Monteith performs the surgery in his office.&nbsp;Dr. Monteith is very experience in removing this contraceptive in tack because it causes worse symptoms and pain if broken because of what is inside of the coils.</p><p>Dr. Monteith asked if I could lobby the NC State legislature to change the health care rules then he would be very appreciative and it would help many, many women.</p><p>I have started this petition to send to the NC State House Representatives how many women who have this Essure are suffering and cannot afford the $7500.00 just for the surgery. &nbsp;Not only do the women have to come up with $7500.00 for the surgery but they also have to travel to Raleigh, NC, have an overnight stay in a hotel, supply their food and, of course, travel arrangements and gas for the trip and there are also other fees included that they will not be aware of until they have the consultation. &nbsp;</p><p>If we could get enough supporters of this petition to change the rules of our health care in North Carolina that would allow the insurance companies to pay for the removal of the Essure coils that would change the quality of life of so many women. &nbsp;Their health would improve so they could become the mothers of the children that they already have that they long to be, be the wives that they need to be and want to be. &nbsp;In some cases, many cases, women could actually go back to work and help with the expenses of the household. &nbsp;The most important aspect of getting this <em>horror of a birth control</em> out of them is that they could actually enjoy life again.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Rhonda Paulk Fortner</p><p>211 West Glendale Avenue</p><p>Mount Holly, NC &nbsp;28120</p>
