Don't change our credentials

<p>In light of the changes made to our ARDMS cards, I am petitioning to have the terminology changed back to registered instead of certified.&nbsp; We are members of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.&nbsp; My credentials are RDMS, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and RVT, registered vascular technologist. I am not, a Certified Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.&nbsp; This may seem like semantics to some, but in a professional environment where we are fighting for respect from our colleagues, physicians and human resource managers, this feels like a demotion in title.&nbsp; If our own accrediting body doesn&rsquo;t respect our years of schooling, studying and the requirement to pass registry exams how are we to fight for the respect and acknowledgement we deserve in the work place.&nbsp; Please sign this petition in support of all the hard working REGISTERED sonogrpahers. &nbsp;If you're a sonographer feel free to add a short note of what it means to you to have your title changed without and explanation of why.&nbsp;</p><p>Thank you, Heather Duran RDMS/RVT</p>
