<p>We are asking Averett University to implement a gender neutral housing solution on campus for transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming students. Doing so will ensure the comfort and safety of these students.</p><p>Many universities have LGBTQ-only or gender neutral housing. As a transgender student at Averett, I have noticed support for this on our campus, but no large movement toward gender neutral housing has yet been accomplished. It is my hope that by creating the petition, students, faculty, alumni, parents, and friends of Averett University will be able to show their support and create change.</p>
