This is a petition designed to show interest in the work of Shirley Manson's pre-Garbage bands to any labels who currently license out-of-print works for repackage and re-release in the current market.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Garbage are a successful 20+ year band, who have released six albums to date, toured worldwide, including a recent sold-out anniversary tour, and scored Grammy nominations, MTV awards, worldwide top ten singles, a James Bond theme, and the adoration of a very loyal fanbase. Fronted by the iconic Shirley Manson, and featuring Nirvana-producer Butch Vig on drums, the band always bring interest and music community attention whenever they are active and touring, even now twenty years into the career and over a decade since their commercial peak, major label days. Their recent album, Strange Little Birds, debuted at #1 on the US Billboard Rock albums, Alternative albums and Independent albums charts in June 2016.

Prior to joining Garbage, Shirley Manson was a member of two Scottish bands, Goodbye Mr Mackenzie, who had a massive following in Scotland and achieved major airplay on Scottish radio stations, and headlined the Glasgow Barrowlands and performed at Europe's then-biggest outdoor concert in the early 90s, and also, Angelfish, who featured members of the Mackenzies, and released an album to the alternative circuit in the US and Europe.

Goodbye Mr Mackenzie released one major label album, Good Deeds and Dirty Rags, on EMI in 1989 (as well as a B-sides compilation and four multi-formatted singles). This album was re-released by US label Razor & Tie in 1999, but no UK/European re-release ever happened since its original print run. A second album (Hammer and Tongs) was released on Radioactive/MCA (which was reissued by Cherry Red in 2006 with four bonus tracks, CD only), and as the 90s progressed further self-funded records, including "Five" on their own Blokshok label.

Angelfish were signed to Gary Kurfirst's Radioactive Records and distributed by MCA just before both were bought up by UMG in the mid-90s. Angelfish released one EP and one album on CD. They filmed two promo videos, one of which "Suffocate Me", was infamously broadcast one time on MTV at one in the morning, which was seen by Garbage's guitarist. Shirley left to join Garbage shortly after. The Angelfish album has only ever been available on import in the UK.

After the millennium, the remaining Mackenzies regrouped as Isa and The Filthy Tongues who released two albums in the noughties, and, now as simply The Filthy Tongues, have released a brand new record titled "Jacob's Ladder" (visit http://isaandthefilthytongues.com to check them our or see when they are playing near you - they still include Mackenzie and Angelfish songs in their sets)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Basically, the above signed names represent fans who would be interested in purchasing expanded CD repackages of both Goodbye Mr Mackenzie's debut record, and the Angelfish record; and indeed, if possible, vinyl pressings of both. The Goodbye Mr Mackenzie album has enough surrounding material from the various singles and bonus tracks to fill out an expanded double-disc release.

When target of signatures has been reached, this petition will be presented to a few labels to allow them to gauge interest in licensing these records.

You can also check out Goodbye Mr Mackenzie videos on YouTube via this link https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=goodbye+mr+mackenzie
