<p>Sharon Pruitt is a thirty-five (35) year educator at Newport Special School District. She began teaching in 1981, after graduating from Newport High School in 1977 and Arkansas State University thereafter. Since that time, Mrs. Pruitt has devoted her time, efforts, blood, sweat, tears, and ultimately her LIFE to Newport High School and its students. </p><p>Nevertheless, and unbeknownst to her, Mrs. Pruitt received notice on April 29, 2016 that her position as Assistant Principal was being eliminated, and she would be out of a job. Not only is this an injustice to Mrs. Pruitt, it is a great disservice to the students she serves. Accordingly, Mrs. Pruitt has appealed the Superintendent's decision to the Newport School Board.
