<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Dear Professor Myatt and Ms. Harris,</span> </p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">In your respective roles as the Deputy Dean and the Head of Quality Assurance at LBS, we understand you are currently in the process of reviewing the academic appeal of Patrick Pan, a former student of the esteemed MBA Class of 2017, regarding his pursuit to continue in the MBA programme. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">This difficult situation started with his ill-informed decision to attend a coveted February job interview in favour of an important re-sit exam, in part due to a misunderstood extenuating circumstance process. Regardless, as a full-time student it was his duty to prioritize his academic commitments above all else. He has since deeply regretted the poor choices that have resulted in this incident, and continues to persevere with utmost professionalism and respect for the institution. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">We have confidence you’ll make an informed and fair decision regarding the matter, and that’s why we’d also like to raise the following points on behalf of Patrick.</span></p><p class="p2"> </p><ul><li class="li1"><span class="s1">His commitment to academics is high. The decision to withdraw Patrick came just days before the Term 2 final exams, yet he fully prepared for them in spite of the difficult time. He even went so far as to offer assistance to classmates in the subjects in which he has deep functional knowledge. He scored well on all four exams, further affirming that he is fully capable of meeting the high academic demands at LBS.</span></li></ul><ul><li class="li1"><span class="s1">In statements from professors and from stream mates, Patrick has contributed consistently in the classroom and provides great industry knowledge and diversity of thought to the learning environment.</span></li></ul><ul><li class="li1"><span class="s1">Beyond his measurable impact in putting together an unforgettable Tattoo event and a new Guinness World Record for LBS, not to mention various other involvements throughout the campus community, Patrick takes time out of his schedule to meet with classmates who seek to gain insight in and enter the luxury industry — his previous career field. </span></li></ul><p class="p2"> </p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">We would like to affirm that Patrick Pan is in every way the type of person that makes the LBS tapestry as special as it is. Not only has he been an invaluable member of the MBA 2017 class, we would see him as an invaluable member of the alumni network long after we leave the school. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">For these reasons it is with great hope, in alignment with his appeal, that we would like to ask for your leniency and allow him to continue to add genuine value in the MBA programme.</span></p><p class="p1"> </p>
