As a person who grew up with the original release of Star Wars IV, V and VI it is very disappointing to not be able to share this with my children in its original format. While us Star Wars fans have an acceptance to re-releasing in a "remastered" or a "digitally enhanced" format we do not appreciate the changed characters, backgrounds and in some cases entire scenes. Even if George really, really, really wanted these changes he should of showed some respect to the millions of fans who made these films successful and offered the original cuts as well (like how Spielberg included both versions of E.T. in the DVD set). These may be George's movies, but WE THE FANS made them successful. And they are successful for a reason. These updates and changes have really impacted the series in a very negative way. Now that Disney has full control we are offering this plea to re-release the films in their original format. Maybe in the next DVD/Blue-ray box set? Sure you can clean them up and digitally enhance them if you really want to but PLEASE give us our originally shot scenes and characters back. THANK YOU.
