When Disney dumped the Extended Universe (all the non-movie and TV shows from before 2014) they made a tragic mistake. The Star Wars Holiday Special appeared on network TV in 1978. It told a gripping and spiritual story set during the Wookie celebration of Life Day. It was not a real holiday, but it upheld the spirit of the holidays in a way "A Charlie Brown Christmas" could only hope to imitate. Plus it had Dianne Carroll, Harvey Korman, Bea Arthur, and Jefferson Airplane. As a cultural icon the show debuted Boba Fett to a waiting world two years before he appeared in "Empire Strikes Back."

This petition is a call to Disney to restore the Holiday Special as canon in the Star Wars timeline, to release it on Blu-Ray in stunning standard definition, make a new multi-channel sound mix, and make a new one for next year featuring Miley Cyrus as a blue tentacled dancing girl.

Join me on this journey to a galaxy far far away and fight the evil Disney Empire to make this piece of cinematic and storytelling history part of the Star Wars universe again.
