Pedestrian Crossing at Dún An Óir

<p>This is a petition to have a pedestrian crossing put in place close to the entrance of the D&uacute;n An &Oacute;ir estate in Kanturk, Co Cork. Following numerous close calls with resident's of the estate nearly being hit by traffic it has become apparent that if nothing is done to remedy the situation, a tragedy is not too far away. The footpath on the D&uacute;n An &Oacute;ir side of the road does not currently stretch as far as the town so every pedestrian leaving the estate and heading in the the direction of Kanturk must cross the road. This includes the dozens of school children who make the dangerous pass every day. Although a safe crossing was on an early list of works that were to be carried out when the development was in it's infancy, we have now been told by the Area Engineer that there is no money available to carry out the work and it is not now a priority. To us residents of D&uacute;n An &Oacute;ir who value our safety and the safety of our children this is very much a priority.&nbsp;</p><p>Please sign this petition and show your support.
