Now, that we are completely dependant upon fossil fuels and electricity for our lives to keep going in its fast motion we have been accustomed to but to save our environment and keeping in mind the limited resources of these fuels, we need to conserved in our use of them, not only for sake of environment but also for long terms until we find a suitable alternative in green energy which is not harmful to environment in any way and because of its renewable source, limiting resources are not the issue.

Regarding green and renewable energy, solar power is a major shareholder and much research and work is being done on it all around the world. In Britain, there have not been much major breakthroughs until recently when there was a major increase in installation base due to reduction in cost of solar panels as well as introduction of feed-in-tariff subsidy. While in 2006, total installed capacity of photovoltaic in United kingdom was 12 MW which raised to 1000 MW by the start of 2012, than over three years it increased to over 22% of UK's power coming from renewable sources till early in 2015 and over 700,000 houses generating their own power.

Now that DECC proposed a cut of 87% in subsidies, the solar industry is facing overnight doom along with with possible loss of thousand of jobs as already two of solar installer companies have collapsed causing 20,000 jobs lost. Though the feed-in-tariff was only introduced for initial stages to stimulate the market and eventually it would not be required but we are still far from that reality and even if solar industry needs some rationalisation but such a huge cut of 87% in a single blow is more than what solar industry can bear.

Please show us your support to help save solar industry and both your and our future as well.

Twanna Warehime: Finance Consultant @ Simply Switch
