<p>Its election time in WA and we have political parties announcing their plans. One of them involves making Perth Modern School a local intake school and constructing a new school above the bus port to house the selective school.</p><p>Perth Modern is a school with a 106 year old legacy. It is the only fully selective school in WA. It has a rich tradition and a grand campus matching its legacy. It deserves to belong to the students who have taken and been selected from the GAT exam, a test which allows the academically gifted to get into special programs into various high schools all over the state. A school is a place where there is an oval and outdoor area. According to the current plans, it seems that the best kids in WA will lose their beautiful, illustrious school in return for what may be a concrete jungle on top of a bus port with little natural sunlight and out door area. The prestige and beauty of the school is only matched by the exclusivity it deserves.</p><p>I am a current student of Perth Modern School and I feel that the cream of crop students who have performed exceptionally well in the many selective tests around Western Australia should get the right to an accolade- filled school that Perth Modern School is and that I hope it remains at the current place. I hope most of you feel the same way as I do about this matter. Rather than giving away our campus we should fight for our home.</p><p>If you do, I beseech you to sign this petition and protect Perth Modern School's rich heritage and it's future. </p>
