Reduce church bell ringing - Richmond Mn

<p>This is a request to the City if Richmond, Mn to send a formal request to the Dioceses of Sts. Peter and Paul and to the Church to request a reduction of the times the church bells ring.</p><p>Currently, from a local resident report the church bells ring every 15 minutes every day all day, in addition during the week days it rings up to 20 or more chimes around 8:00 am each morning, in addition to the weekend service ringing.</p><p>Understanding that a certain&nbsp;of amount of the ringing is directly related to church events, services and activities. These are respected as traditional bell ringing.&nbsp;</p><p>The request is to reduce the non-church related ringing. Ideally, the request is to reduce to an hourly ringing during the hours of 6:00am to 10:00pm, eliminate ringing between 10:00pm - 6:00am and otherwise maintain ringing for church related events and services.</p><p>This request isn't to mute the traditional bell ringing related to&nbsp;church related events. It is to create a community environment in which current and new residents are able to spend enjoyable time inside and outside of their homes for themselves and guests without having conversation or sleep disrupted.</p><p>This request is to align night time noise with current regulations restricting residents from being a noise nuaience to each other.&nbsp;</p><p>Depending on location, the church bells impact the quality of the residents ability to maintain activities such as outdoor conversations, undisturb sleep&nbsp;and family and/or guests to spend evenings in our home and community.</p><p>Signing this petition States you are in agreement to reducing the non-church related bell ringing, and that we recognize traditional church event bell ringing is welcomed. It is a request to eliminate night ringing between 10:00pm - 6:00am and reduce to hourly ringing between 6:00am - 10:00pm, unless it is a tradional church relates event or service.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
