<p><strong><u>We Hereby Petition the U.S. Forest Service and Our Elected Officials to:</u></strong></p><ul><li><strong><u>Protect</u><em><u> Our</u></em></strong><strong><em> Property Rights, Constitutional Rights, Quality of Life (including water resources)</em></strong><strong><em>.</em></strong></li><li><strong><u>Demand</u></strong> <strong><em>that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) withdraw the current Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) because it is inaccurate, misleading, and woefully incomplete.</em></strong></li><li><strong><u>Oppose</u></strong> <strong><em>all </em></strong><strong><em>actions by the FERC to fast-track the MVP project without genuine, scientifically credible evaluation of the potentially devastating environmental effects of the project.</em></strong></li><li><strong><u>Demand and Convene</u></strong> <strong><em>open meetings in counties impacted by the MVP, to allow the public to express their concerns directly to the Jefferson National Forest Supervisor, the FERC, and our elected officials.</em></strong></li><li><strong><u>Oppose</u></strong><strong> <em>the request to cross the Jefferson National Forest with the MVP.</em></strong></li><li><strong><u>Reject</u></strong><strong><em> proposed amendments to the Jefferson National Forest Management Plan, which offer special treatment for MVP and similar corporate pipeline projects. </em></strong></li></ul>
