I am requesting petition support to get Dave Moretti inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 2017. Dave is arguably one of boxing's top judges. Entry into the IBHOF requires a nomination letter which gets fully reviewed. The nomination letter follows.

Screening Committee

IBHOF

1 Hall of Fame Drive

Canastota, NY 13032

I am writing this letter to respectfully request that boxing judge David Moretti be given the highest consideration for induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF). Dave possesses, to an uncommon degree, the skills, ability, honesty, integrity, and longevity to more than qualify him by even the most rigorous IBHOF standards. Dave’s statistics include: judging more than 150 championship fights; judged fights in various countries around the world; and, judging more than 1,000 total fights. Among Dave’s many career highlights are (there are too many to mention); induction into the Buffalo’s Veterans Boxing Association Ring 44 Hall of Fame; judged the youngest heavyweight world title fight between IBHOF inductee Mike Tyson and Trevor Berbick; judged multiple fights for future IBHOF inductees Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, and Mike Tyson; also judged fights for boxing greats Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler, Larry Holmes. Bernard Hopkins, and many others; judged one of boxing’s greatest all time fights between IBHOF inductees Sugar Ray Leonard and Marvelous Marvin Hagler; judged who are considered two of modern times greatest fighters in the match between Mayweather and Pacquiao, and, judging during five decades. Dave has been licensed with the Nevada State Athletic Commission since the mid-1970s and is frequently called upon to mentor the development of new and upcoming judges. Dave truly deserves to be selected for induction by the IBHOF with its strong tradition of honoring and preserving boxing’s heritage and the achievements of those who have excelled in boxing. There is no denying Dave’s credentials make him worthy of IBHOF induction and I know he would be thrilled to be able to enjoy this honor with his family and friends.
